Halloween 2010
I hope everyone had a wonderful and safe Halloween this year! Thought I would post my costume since it was so much fun becoming a Vampire Bride! I think I have a serious new obsession with fangs-making them was absolutely hilarious since you have to melt special plastic particles into a spoon and begin to mold to the tooth sample! SO FUN- and took me more than a couple of times to make them perfection!
A special thanks to my good friend Ania for doing the most amazing, incredible, and insanely real makeup job (she is pictured above)! There is my brother Matt in the Mexican costume and below him is this sweet girl named Anna Braha who I saw/met on the street. I was dying from her costume! She looked SO incredible as a dirty martini and I dub her "Costume of Halloween 2010"!
Hope everyone is having a great week so far!

Crushing on Charley 5.0

Denim Divas listen up!
With the "desperate desire for denim" craze this season, there is one brand who has been on top of the jean chain since 2009 and that is CHARLEY5.0. Focused on bringing denim to new stylistic levels of fun and femininity, the masterminds behind the line, Susan Dimeo, Yalenis Capeda, and Marcy Feldman prove that denim is no longer only meant for the stems. With fun, flirty jackets, stretch denim dresses, and cool shorts and skirts, it is hard to not want to incorporate every piece into your personal wardrobe. Above are pictures from their Fall 2010 look book, but get excited about their Holiday 2010 and Spring/Summer 2011 collections because I viewed them privately on Monday and IT. IS. FAB. Known as Charley's Angels (how clever and adorable is that!?), Dimeo, Capeda, and Feldman have succeeded in sending me straight to heaven with the entire collection-and I know you will just love it too. What I find so amazing about the line is that they have successfully incorporated the perfect amount of edge and girly femme to every single piece, allowing every type of girl to become a fan of Charley 5.0-and looking hot as ever!
Special thanks to Susan and Yalenis-you girls rock! <3

Melting Over Drew Barrymore's Shoot for October Issue of BAZAAR!
Photos courtesy of: harpersbazaar.com
Ok. So I have had a HUGE crush on Drew Barrymore for ages now but HOLY. COW. This just took our relationship to a whole new level! This Harpers Bazaar spread is the MOST beautiful one I have ever seen her in-and pretty much my most favorite and inspirational spread in a while. With its whimsical and ethereal 60's portrayal, Barrymore exemplifies a true Hollywood Goddess from her hair color down to her shoes. I just can not stop starring at the lighting of each photograph and the color choices within each individual shot! So heavenly and SO well done! I don't think I have ever stared harder at the props in the background of a spread, but this one just tells such a beautiful story, it is hard not to appreciate every last detail.
This spread just reaffirmed for me why I love what I do so much and why fashion is such a large part of me. When anything fashionably artistic is brought to life after being envisioned in great detail, I understand how much appreciation and passion for everything beautiful and glamourous goes into portraying a certain image. I feel blessed that a photograph can have such a powerful, yet wonderful affect on me and make me feel like one of the lucky ones to do what I do. And that is truly a breathtaking experience in itself.

Take a Stylish Step Forward This Winter: Mountrek Boots!
photos courtesy of: mountrek.com
Attention ladies who still like to look fashionably cute in the rain, sleet, and snow!
The chilly season is soon approaching and I hate nothing more than relying on my designer boots to tread through the roughness of the season. This season however, my friends at Mountrek Boots have told me to be on the lookout for a pair of incredible winter boots that they are sending over to me! I can tell you right now...they will be called my new "cold weather saviors"! Most of the designs are waterproof, come in a great variation of colors, and the tractor-like bottom prevents you from sliding in the snow! The waterproof boots are a huge step forward from your typical UGG wearing days-NO TREATMENT IS NEEDED because they have a built in waterproof booty-BRILLIANT! With 200 grams of PRIMALOFT insulation, the boots are extremely lightweight and easy to pack as well which is a huge plus for the girl on the go. The best part about the boots, THE PRICE! With a starting price point of less than $100, this should SO be the must have addition to your shoe closet! All that AND you can still look snow-chic!? Can someone say, "BRING ON THE COLD"!?
Check out and purchase your stylish boots below!

Wild for WildFox!
I have officially gone mad for this line!
I can honestly say that the one t-shirt line that season after season I am drooling over is WILDFOX! Since 2007, designers Emily Faulstich and Kimberly Gordon have succeeded in delivering to us a line filled with vintage inspired pieces with a "girly girl meets rocker boyfriend" flair. WILDFOX stands for wearing things that let our inhibitions run wild to say the least! Their oh-so-cool collections exude confidence and sassiness, bringing out the wild child in all of us! Their campaigns are always SO fantastic and über dramatic (in the BEST ways)! Telling fantasy stories through the eye of the wearer, their pieces are meant to compliment any girls wardrobe and encourage the little day dreamer in all of us to explore with the fun in fashion-and not be afraid to do so!
The photo above are some of my favorite pieces from my own closet, but I am literally dying for all of it! How I usually transition these tees from Summer into Fall is to pair them with:
1. Cool leather leggings/pants with a chunky sweater or cardigan
2. Jeans and a cute blazer with an amazing scarf
3. Mini skirt for a casual, but sexy night out on the town.
To check out their entire collection and to read more on Emily and Kimberly, you can visit WILDFOX!

Designer Obsession: Marchesa!
Photos courtesy of: style.com
Marchesa! Marchesa! Marchesa!
I honestly can not get enough of designers Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig! They are designer geniuses to say the least, always transforming a woman's figure into a fabric draped piece of art. Each detail is always precise, each design is always exquisite, and the tailoring is always light years beyond perfection. In my fashion fantasy dream world, I would own every single piece from every single collection...I have had that dream bubble probably 100 plus times already...
This year, their Spring 2011 presentation took place at the Chelsea Art Museum and boy did the models dress to impress! From stunning, over the top dresses to gauzey-lace jumpsuit creations, this collection surely did not disappoint! What is so amazing about Marchesa is that although their designs are über feminine, there is a certain edge to each piece that takes on a unique personality when worn by individual women. The most important requirement? Confidence ladies!
For all the Marchesa devotees out there, you can now get the luminous glow of their collections on your skin with their new makeup line for Le Métier de Beauté sold at Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus! ooo la la!

Notorious and Notable: 20th Century Women of Style
On Monday, September 13th, I attended the private cocktail party viewing for the Notorious & Notable 20th Century Women of Style exhibition which took place at The Museum of the City of New York. I took along one of my best friends Nikki Cohen as I know she loves fashion and the arts just as much as me. Nikki and I walked through the short exhibit that consisted of dresses and jewelry worn by some of the most recognized women of their time such as Jacqueline Kennedy Onasis, Annette de la Renta, Bette Midler, and Barbara Walters.
This exhibit showed how fashion has changed tremendously over the years but how many trends come back around as well. There must have been at least 5 dresses Nikki and I said we wanted to wear to upcoming events-then walked away frowning that we couldn't!
I know I posted mostly all the pictures, but to see all the details of the garments in person is truly a whole new experience that I highly recommend to any person who appreciates fashion in its true art form. The exhibition can be viewed from September 14th-January 3rd www.mcny.com

Band-Aids Never Looked So Good...
Photos courtesy of: cynthiarowley.com
Cynthia Rowley is taking her fashion designing to a whole new level! Now with pretty, chic, and fun Band-Aids, any fashionista can cover up in style! I actually noticed these cutie's in the New York Times Style Section 2 weeks ago and I'm not lying...I wished I had had a boo boo to cover up! Other than the adorable prints, to top it off "one dollar from the sale of each tin will go to Design Ignites Change, an organization that engages high school and college students in design and architecture projects that address social issues in their own communities" (cynthiarowley.com). Anything involving fashion and giving back to your community is such a good reason to make you smile and feel better.
Thank god these are just in time for Fashion Week! ;) CAN NOT EVEN WAIT!
So...even though you may be hurting underneath this little beauty, at least your heart will feel good knowing you are giving back.
